Forget about celebrating carnival in Rio, instead head to Africa’s biggest party; The Calabar Carnival, described as ‘the pride of Nigeria’!
This year we are proud to be involved with one of the biggest carnivals in Africa. We can’t wait to experience “The Battle of the Bands”, “Street Parade”, the people and more.
The carnival started with the Miss Africa contest where we saw all beauties from Africa contest for the crown. Miss Angola emerged the winner.
The carnival saw lots of troupes both national and international put on a colorful show. We saw troupes from: Kenya, Rwanda, Turkey, Hungary, India, Patatrak Circus, Russia, Vietnam, Brazil and Mexico. It was indeed a carnival to remember and we are glad we got a firsthand experience.
