For four unforgettable days, the spotlight shone on Africa’s thriving film and television industry as the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) brought together filmmakers, actors, creatives, and culture enthusiasts in a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and culture.

The event opened with Young Filmmakers Day, where aspiring filmmakers were invited to share authentic Nigerian stories through film. As part of its support for the next generation of storytellers, MTN rewarded standout participants with grants and prizes to help them continue their creative journey. The celebrations also included Icons Night, which honoured industry veterans whose work helped shape Nollywood into what it is today. Then, Cultural Day showcased Nigeria’s diversity and creativity through vibrant performances, fashion, and artistic expression.

The grand finale, the AMVCA Awards Night, brought together the biggest names in entertainment for a night of recognition and celebration. MTN proudly presented the Best Short Film Award, accompanied by a ₦5 million cash prize, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing creative talent and supporting the future of African storytelling.
