FROM CHAMPION TO CEO: 12-YEAR-OLD STUDENT LEADS MTN FOR 1 DAY

Have you ever wondered how you would feel if you had the privilege to become the president of the World Bank for just a day? That’s a great opportunity you would not want to miss and I guess a lot of ideas on how best to handle the office popped up in your head right? That’s amazing!

With over 30,000 wordsmiths, Daniel Victor Nwaku emerged victorious as the winner of the mPulse Spelling Bee and had the opportunity to sit as the CEO of MTN Nigeria for a day.

On January 31st, 2024, Daniel Victor Nwaku, a 12-year-old student of Intimacy with Christ International, Nasarawa State, Nigeria outshined other participants as he emerged as the best among over 2,000 participants of the mPulse Spelling Bee competition held at the MTN head office in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

The initiative is part of MTN Nigeria’s commitment to helping primary and secondary school students in Nigeria improve their English language, and spelling skills, achieve their full potential, gain real-world experience and above all win lots of exciting prizes. As CEO for a day, Daniel sat in place of MTN CEO, Karl Toriola as he attended meetings, and briefed staff while learning the roles and responsibilities of the various departments in the company. What a great day for a 12-year-old!

Aside from the opportunity he had to sit as the CEO of MTN Nigeria for a day, he also won #2.5 Million scholarship grant, a laptop and an MTN goody bag.

Congratulations to Daniel Victor Nkanu for attaining such great feet and to other bright minds out there, you too can dream BIG!
