MTN Foundation Opens Nominations for WCWDT Phase 6
Date: May 5, 2026
Location: Ikoyi
On May 5, 2026, the MTN Foundation hosted the What Can We Do Together (WCWDT) Media Parley, officially unveiling the sixth phase of its community-driven intervention programme. The session brought together government representatives, community leaders, development partners, and members of the media to discuss the impact of the initiative and outline plans for the 2026 rollout.
Over the years, the What Can We Do Together initiative has delivered interventions across healthcare and education, reaching hundreds of communities nationwide through the revitalization of Primary Healthcare Centres and the upgrade of public secondary school science laboratories.
The Foundation used the occasion to reinforce its commitment to community-led development, emphasizing that sustainable impact is achieved when communities actively identify their own needs. Transparency, collaboration, and shared responsibility remain central to the initiative’s approach, ensuring that interventions are not imposed but co-created with the people they are meant to serve.
The sixth phase of the initiative will support the upgrade of 40 Primary Healthcare Centres and 15 public secondary school science laboratories across Nigeria. Nominations for the 2026 cycle opened on May 5 and will run until June 22, 2026, with Nigerians encouraged to nominate deserving communities through the MTN website or by sending “MTN” via SMS to 421.
